Our Mission:
Our Mission
Glossed & Gritty exists to bring women in the collision industry to the forefront – unfiltered, unapologetic and fully seen. Our magazine goes beyond the technical to explore the lifestyle of being a woman in the shop, celebrating those who paved the path, those redefining it and those just getting started.
We’re shifting the narrative to prove women don’t just belong in this industry – we help shape its future.
Our mission is to increase visibility, retention and opportunity for women in the collision repair industry by creating a lifestyle magazine that reflects who they are, what they face and what they’re capable of, while fostering a culture of respect, collaboration and allyship. Through storytelling, advocacy and community, we help women envision themselves in the trade – and stay there.

Our Vision
We envision a collision repair industry where women are visible, valued and supported at every stage of their careers – where young women can see themselves in the trade, experienced professionals are recognized for their leadership, and progress is driven through collaboration, advocacy and allyship. An industry where representation is the norm, not the exception – where women thrive in shops, lead with confidence and build careers without shrinking themselves to fit outdated molds. A future where the next generation doesn’t wonder if they belong, because they already know they do.
Representation Matters
Visibility changes everything. When women see others like them succeeding in the industry, possibility becomes reality. We are committed to showcasing women at every stage – from students and up-and-comers to seasoned leaders and shop owners – because representation isn’t optional, it’s essential.
We Bring the Whole Damn Table
Women don’t just contribute skills – we bring leadership, perspective, emotional intelligence, adaptability and grit. We reject the idea that success requires shrinking, conforming or fitting into outdated molds. What sets us apart is our strength.
Lifestyle, Not Just the Trade
Being a woman in a male-dominated field doesn’t end when the shift does. From wellness and workwear to confidence, culture, and career longevity, we honor the full, multifaceted lives of women in the industry – not just their job titles.
Community Over Competition
Progress happens faster when women support women. We believe in connection, mentorship, and collective growth, creating a space where experience is shared, voices are heard, and no one feels like they’re navigating this industry alone.
Allyship Moves the Needle
Change isn’t achieved by women alone. We value and recognize the men who mentor, advocate and make space – those who understand that building a stronger industry means building it together.
Integrity Before Influence
We choose purpose over profit and substance over noise. Our content, partnerships, and advertisers align with our mission, our community and our standards – because trust is the foundation of everything we build.
Paying It Forward
We honor the women who came before us by clearing the path for those who come next. Whether through education, advocacy, or access, we are committed to giving back and building something that lasts.
Our Team

Chasidy Rae Sisk
Co-Founder | Editor-in Chief | Wordsmith
Chasidy Rae Sisk has spent nearly two decades telling the stories of the collision repair industry – but more importantly, she’s spent that time listening. An award-winning writer, editor and journalist, Chasidy has built her career amplifying the voices that keep the industry moving, with a particular focus on women whose experiences are too often overlooked.
As the founder of Chasidy Rae Sisk Writing & Communications, she has reported on everything from emerging vehicle technology and workforce challenges to consumer advocacy and education. Her work appears in regional and national trade publications across the country, where she is known for combining technical accuracy with genuine, human storytelling.
But Glossed & Gritty was born from something more personal.
After years in the industry, Chasidy saw a gap she couldn’t ignore. The tools, the gear, the culture – and even the media – rarely reflected women as they truly are. Strong and stylish. Tough and thoughtful. Technical and human. Women weren’t just underrepresented; they were expected to adapt to spaces never designed with them in mind.
Glossed & Gritty is Chasidy’s answer to that disconnect.
For her, glossed represents visibility, confidence and the right to be seen as a whole person – not just a role. Gritty honors the resilience, work ethic and determination it takes to succeed in a male-dominated trade. Together, they tell the truth of women in collision repair: complex, capable and unapologetic about claiming HER place.
When she’s not shaping stories or building platforms for others, Chasidy can be found corralling her headstrong daughter, riding her ‘96 Harley Sportster (named Veronica, AKA Ronnie) or chasing new experiences – because growth, like good storytelling, never comes from standing still.

Jannifer Stimmel-Watkins
Co-Founder | Technical Editor | Tech
Jannifer Stimmel-Watkins came to the collision repair industry the long way around – and that’s exactly what makes her perspective so powerful. After a decade in healthcare, Jannifer followed a lifelong love of cars into collision repair, where she quickly fell in love with the science, precision and problem-solving that define the trade. From structural repair and welding to diagnostics, ADAS, estimating and shop operations, she’s worn nearly every hat – and understands the industry from the ground up.
A former collision repair instructor at Texas State Technical College and the founder of AutiBody Texperience, Jannifer is deeply committed to education, safety and workforce development. She’s known for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world repair, helping students and shops alike understand not just how to repair vehicles – but why it matters. Most recently, she worked in ADAS compliance and estimating, ensuring repairs are performed correctly, documented properly and aligned with OEM safety standards.
Jannifer is also a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, retention and inclusive shop culture. Diagnosed as autistic later in life, she brings a unique lens to problem-solving, process improvement and mentorship – championing environments where people are supported, challenged and valued for how they think.
For Jannifer, gritty is the heart of the industry: the welding sparks, the long hours, the constant learning and the humility required to do the job right. Glossed is what happens when that hard work is respected – when people are given the tools, training and recognition they deserve.
Glossed & Gritty reflects her belief that collision repair isn’t just a job – it’s a responsibility and a lifestyle. One that impacts safety, livelihoods and futures. And one that deserves a culture where women, students and underrepresented voices can thrive.
Outside of work, Jannifer’s world is filled with family, animals (including two bottle-fed kangaroos Rusty & Patina) and vintage Volkswagens – especially “Phoebe,” her 1973 VW Transporter that symbolizes both her personal journey and her belief that meaningful work often starts with a spark.

Together, We Are:
Glossed and Gritty!
We are women who have built our careers inside the collision repair industry – not observing it from the outside, but living it every day. Glossed & Gritty was created because we believe women’s stories deserve to be told in our own voices, without dilution or permission. For too long, women in this industry have adapted to spaces not designed for them.
We’re done adapting! This platform exists to reflect the reality of our work, our lives and our experiences – honest, nuanced and unapologetically ours…and YOURS!
At our core, we believe that visibility changes outcomes. When women see themselves represented – not as exceptions, but as professionals, leaders, educators and innovators – it strengthens the entire industry.
Glossed & Gritty is about celebrating women at every stage of their journey, amplifying voices that have been overlooked and creating space for real conversations that move the industry forward. By highlighting the contributions of women and recognizing the allies who support progress, we’re helping build a culture rooted in respect, safety and longevity.
Most importantly, we do this for the future. For the students looking for proof that they belong. For the women who stayed when it would have been easier to leave. And for our daughters – so they grow up knowing that their strength, intelligence and ambition will never be barriers, only assets. We are building something that lasts, not just for today’s industry, but for the next generation who will inherit it.
